Chinese ports. The delta variant of the coronavirus is shutting down some of China’s busiest ports, throwing yet another wrench into global supply chains and further hindering China’s progress on the commitments it made in the phase one trade deal with the U.S. China has another viral problem: Swine fever variants are wreaking havoc on Chinese pig herds again, raising the risk of politically explosive food inflation in the country.
