Dear Members and Observers,
First of all I hope you are all keeping safe and in good health!
Over the past month the situation with respect to COVID-19 has deteriorated in many parts of the world and the situation is unlikely to be resolved by mid-May.
This results in the need to cancel the physical meetings of the LAPB/44 and TTWG/25 that were scheduled to be held at the IATA Madrid Office (Paseo de la Castellana, 95, 28046 Madrid, Spain) from May 12th to 14th, 2020.
However, the meetings will be moved to virtual meetings/calls for the time being. The LAPB will be assessing the situation in April as to determine if the scheduled May dates will be kept to organize such virtual meeting/call or if these will be postponed to a later date in Q2 and also based on the agenda items received.
The objectives of a virtual meeting is to set a couple of hours call on live animals matters and on the perishable/pharma matters. There won’t be a full agenda and the number of agenda items will be limited to “essential” changes to standards in the Regulations. The number of participants to such call might also be limited to remain focused. It is important to keep progressing on the standards setting activities even during this difficult and extraordinary time.
I remain at disposal should you have any question.
Thank you for your understanding and I will keep you informed or update you on these virtual meetings in due course.
Please Stay Safe!
