Authorized persons travelling with pets into Ireland
The Department of Agriculture in Ireland would like to remind people of the following in regards to non-commercial shipments:
“The pet must arrive in Ireland with the owner. If the owner cannot travel with the pet directly, then someone else (an authorised person) may travel with your pet directly on your behalf, BUT only if the owners own journey is still within 5 days of the pet/authorised person journey”.
So in short, the authorised person must also travel within 5 days of the owner of the pet to qualify as a non-commercial move.
